If you had read the interviews we did with the Australian players as part of the build up to this series, you would have seen player after player making two points: One, that they intended to play aggressive cricket and two, that they thought the key was to play it session by session, to minimise the damage they sustain and to come back fighting.
Today, vice-captain Adam Gilchrist walked that talk, in company of opener Mathew Hayden. And in the process, produced an exhibition of counter-attacking cricket that ranks as the best in recent times

Koenigsegg CCXR Super Car is Green!

When I think of biofuel cars, I think slow, imperfect, compromising performance for greenness. Not to mention the lovely smell of french fries and other fried food smells emanating from the exhaust pipe. Cause: your mostly purified cooking oil used as the fuel. I certainly don't think of a "green" car that sports 1018HP and 780/lb/ft of torque at 6100 rpm that puts the Bugatti Veyron to shame. Well, that's exactly what the Koenigsegg CCXR supercar sports via its lightweight, cast-aluminium V8 engine, whose biofuel powers it from 0-100kph in just 2.9 seconds! The lean mean green machine's performance is made possible by E85 biofuel's higher octane rating and better cooling properties. Ok, so it doesn't use cooking oil, I guess that's a plus. It'll only cost you 1.5 million euros to bring one home and with the dollar still dropping, that'll cost you .. oh about $1 billion dollars. Sorry U.S. green sports car fans -- no green performance for you

Muttiah Muralidharan

Colombo: Pressure from Australia and England fuelled the ban on his controversial doosra delivery, Sri Lanka’s star spinner Muttiah Muralidharan said on his return home Thursday.
Arriving to a hero’s welcome after the Zimbabwe tour during which he set a new world record for Test wickets, Muralidharan said he could live without the doosra.
“Even if they insist, I don’t mind, I can bowl several others,” Muralidharan said. “This ban is because of pressure from Australia and England. There is no problem in Asia. No one in Asia has complained about it.”

Brett Lee

Brett Lee (born 8 November 1976 in Wollongong, New South Wales) is an Australian cricketer.
After breaking into the Australian Test team, Lee was recognised as one of the fastest bowlers in world cricket. In each of his first two years, he averaged less than 20 with the ball, but since then has mostly achieved figures in the early 30s.[1]
He was an athletic fielder and useful lower-order batsman, with a batting average exceeding 20 in Test cricket. Together with Mike Hussey, he holds the record for highest 7th wicket partnership for Australia in ODIs since 2005–2006 (123).[2]

Gayle: big hitter

However, with the Ashes getting underway at Cardiff, players will be looking to take advantage of the short straight boundaries to move up in the charts.
Aussies wicket-keeper, Brad Haddin, in particular will be looking to close the gap on the top two, while England's Kevin Pietersen will no doubt be hoping he can improve on his nine sixes.
Meanwhile in St Vincent, the West Indies take on Bangladesh where Gayle will be shooting for the half-century mark.
